Grok Bot
Ask Grok Bot for reviewable results
Tell the Bot what artifact you want and how you will judge it. Strong results are independently reviewable: source links, screenshots with the relevant state visible, timestamps, a short action log, and an explicit list of anything the Bot could not verify. Official guide: Work with Grok Bot → Ask for reviewable results.
Name the artifact and the bar
Specify the deliverable and its acceptance criteria. Examples that work well: a document with source links, a spreadsheet with defined columns, a folder of screenshots and logs, or a draft that has not been sent yet. For consequential work, ask the Bot to separate facts found in source systems, assumptions, actions already completed, actions waiting for approval, and unresolved questions.
A useful kickoff looks like this:
Reconcile this month's transactions against the signed policy PDF. Return a new spreadsheet with exception rows and a short summary. Cite the policy section for every exception. Do not modify the originals. List anything you could not verify.
Review the cards, not a prose dump alone
Generated files and links appear as cards you can preview, save, or answer with feedback. Ask the Bot to revise the existing artifact instead of making disconnected copies. Do not rely on a screenshot alone for fast-changing data; ask for a direct source link or a re-open of the live system when the decision matters.
Use threads and reactions the right way
Reply in a thread when feedback applies to one result or one approval request. Use reactions only for lightweight acknowledgement. A reaction alone should not carry a safety-critical decision.
Find prior work later
Search and the command palette find prior messages, files, links, and routines across your Bots. Search availability can vary during rollout. If cross-conversation results are not available, open the relevant Bot and use its conversation history.
Pitfalls
- Asking for "a summary" with no acceptance criteria — you get prose you cannot verify against sources.
- Accepting a screenshot of a dashboard as the only evidence for a live metric that changes by the minute.
- Putting an approval decision in a reaction emoji instead of an explicit reply.
- Letting the Bot create a second copy of a deliverable when you meant to revise the first card.
