Connect GitHub so Grok can search repos, issues, and PRs

GitHub is in the Grok connector catalog. Once it is connected, Grok can search code, summarize pull requests, review changes, and work issues in the repos the OAuth grant covers.

Connect GitHub

1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
2. Click New Connector and choose GitHub.
3. Sign in on GitHub and approve the permissions Grok shows.
4. Back in a chat, name the repo: owner/name, the issue number, or the PR.

On the phone: Settings → Connectors, then connect GitHub there.

On the web you can also press + in a chat, open Connectors, and + Add connector.

What to ask

• Summarize open PRs on blendmodeus/metagrok and list what is blocking merge.
• Search this repo for where weekly usage is documented.
• Draft an issue for [bug] with steps to reproduce.

Keep the ask inside one repo when you can. A vague "my code" search wastes the grant.

Disconnect

1. Open grok.com/connectors.
2. Find GitHub and disconnect it.
3. Or revoke the OAuth app at GitHub → Settings → Applications.

Pitfalls

• Org repos often need an org owner to approve the GitHub App or OAuth app. A personal grant will not see those private org repos until that approval lands.
• On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin has to provision the connector in the cloud console before members can connect it.
• Grok's GitHub connector lives on grok.com. Grok Build and Grok Bot have their own GitHub access.
