Connect Plaid or a bank feed in Grok Bot

Grok on grok.com / the Grok apps can link Plaid for some finance flows. That link does not carry over into Grok Bot. Cursor staff (deanrie, Sep 4, 2026) stated there is no first-party Plaid connector on Grok Bot today. A Bot finance agent will not see the consumer Grok Plaid connection.

What works today

1. Open Grok Bot Settings → Plugins (or the connectors list for your account).
2. Search the catalog / Marketplace for a bank or finance plugin you trust.
3. If one exists, install it and complete its auth in the browser with the intended account.
4. Return to Grok Bot and ask the Bot to use that plugin’s tools only after auth succeeds.

Staff pointed people at the Marketplace / plugins path while a first-party Plaid connector is absent. There is no documented “import my grok.com Plaid” switch.

What does not work

1. Expecting the Grok app / grok.com Plaid login to appear inside Bot chats.
2. Searching the connector catalog for “Plaid” and treating a missing result as a broken install — staff said first-party Plaid is not on Bot yet.
3. Pasting bank passwords into ordinary chat to “wire it up.” Use a plugin’s OAuth / auth card, or take over the computer for a site login when that is the only path.

If you need read-only balances anyway

1. Prefer a Marketplace plugin with scoped, read-only bank access when one fits your bank.
2. Or have the Bot work from files you export (CSV statements) that you attach under Bot attachment limits — see Bot troubleshooting for size caps.
3. Or use grok.com connectors for the consumer Grok surface, knowing that surface is separate from Bot’s cloud computer.

Track the feature request on the forum thread if you want a first-party Plaid connector. No ETA was given in the staff reply.

Pitfalls

• Distinct from Use Grok Bot on a site without a connector — browser takeovers do not replace a bank OAuth connector you can trust.
• Distinct from Apple Health / HealthKit requests: different data source, same class of “not in catalog yet.”
• Uninstalling and reinstalling plugins will not invent a Plaid entry that staff said is missing.
