Connect Plaid or a bank feed in Grok Bot

Use this when you want a Grok Bot to work with bank, card, or investment data. On Sep 26, 2026 the official @bot account announced a Finance integration that links those accounts through Plaid. There is no Finance page on docs.x.ai (checked Oct 5, 2026). This page states only what that announcement and the file-attachment docs say.

Open Finance in the marketplace

@bot said: "Link your bank, card, and investment accounts with the new Finance integration." The follow-up said: "Accounts connect securely through Plaid. Access is read-only, Grok Bot never sees your logins, and you can unlink anytime. Search for 'Finance' in the marketplace."

  1. Search for Finance in the marketplace, as @bot said.
  2. Complete the Plaid link the integration shows you.
  3. Ask the Bot to use only the linked accounts after the connection succeeds.
  4. Unlink when you want the access gone. @bot said you can unlink anytime.

This page does not invent further menu names. It does not say which banks, cards, or brokerages appear in the Plaid picker. It does not say whether a grok.com Plaid login carries over. It does not say whether Apple Card is available.

If you need a file instead

When you have a statement or export and you do not want to use Finance, attach the file to the chat. Files and results lists supported inputs including CSV, JSON, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF. The desktop composer accepts up to six attachments at a time. Documents, images, and audio can be up to 25 MB each. An example prompt in those docs is "The spreadsheet is this month's transactions." On iPhone, the share sheet can send a file into a chat. On Android, the share sheet accepts text only.

Troubleshooting also says to try exporting an unusual format as PDF or CSV.

  1. Export the period you need from your bank or card, and choose a file format the export screen offers.
  2. On desktop, attach up to six files in one message, each document at or under 25 MB.
  3. Name the file in the same message, the way the docs example does.
  4. On iPhone you can share a file into the chat. On Android, share text, or attach from the desktop app instead.

  • Pasting bank passwords into ordinary chat. @bot said Grok Bot never sees your logins on the Plaid path. Keep it that way.
