Create your first Grok Bot teammate

Grok Bot is a desktop and iOS app. Each Bot has a name, a job, its own conversation, and a shared cloud computer. Bot usage is billed on its own pool.

Install and sign in

1. Open the Grok Bot access page from Get started and download for your computer.
2. macOS: pick Apple silicon or Intel, open the disk image, drag Grok Bot to Applications, then open it.
3. Windows: pick x64 or Arm64, run the installer, then open Grok Bot from the Start menu.
4. Choose Get started. Finish sign-in in the browser. Grok Bot uses your Cursor account.
5. Answer the first-run questions about the tools you use. Those answers only shape teammate suggestions.

There is no Linux desktop app. iOS is the other supported surface. Accounts on Legacy Privacy Mode have to move to a supported Cursor data setting before Grok Bot starts.

Eligible plans

The get-started page lists SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Standard or Premium. The Aug 11 launch post also named SuperGrok and Cursor Pro. After you sign in, trust the access page you land on. Enterprise is a waitlist.

Create the Bot

1. Pick a suggested teammate, or choose Create your own.
2. Give it a short name, one primary job, and a description of how it should work.
3. Or press New / Cmd/Ctrl+N, then Create new agent, then Bot actions → Edit Profile.
4. Put durable rules in the description (approval, what it must never send). Put the day's task in the first message.

An account can hold up to 50 Bots and group chats combined.

First task

Write the outcome, the sources, the constraints, the deliverable, and when it should stop for you. Official starter that needs no login:

Summarize this document in five bullets. List every date, decision, and open question in a separate section. Cite the page or section for each item. Do not change the source file.

When it hits a login wall, open Agent Computer, take over, enter the password or 2FA yourself, then hand the computer back.

Pitfalls

• A job named General Helper gives the Bot less to keep. Talent Scout, Expense Manager, and Bug Reproduction are the kind of names the docs use.
• Hiding a Bot removes it from the sidebar. It does not pause the Bot or its routines.
• A public share link shows the Bot's identity, description, skills, and routines. Strip keys and customer data before you copy it.
