Edit one region in Imagine and leave the rest
Edit one region in Imagine and leave the rest
Imagine Image 2.0 (Quality Mode on grok.com/imagine, iOS, and Android) edits a still the way you point. The magic wand changes the region you mark. Segmentation selects a precise area. Background removal exports the subject with a transparent background.
After you have a still
- Open grok.com/imagine and select Quality (v2.0) before you work.
- Generate a still, or start from one you already made.
- Point the magic wand at the region that should change. Write the new instruction for that region only.
- Use Segmentation when you need a tighter selection than a wand tap (a product edge, a hand, a sky).
- Generate the edit. Keep the rest of the prompt. If the edit drifted, name the one thing to put back.
Multi-ref
Image 2.0 accepts up to 5 input images in one generation. Put the subject in one still, the lighting or set in another, then say which one wins.
Pitfalls
- A second full prompt after a good still often redraws the whole frame. Speak to the region.
- Background removal is for export. Do not treat a checkerboard cutout as the finished site asset unless you need the alpha.
- The API model id for this Quality Mode is
grok-imagine-image-2.0.
