Find what’s new in each Grok Bot version

There is no official Grok Bot changelog page today. Cursor staff (Colin, Aug 31, 2026) said the best place to follow releases is Grok Bot (@bot) on X. Settings → Updates only exposes Update Track (Stable / Nightly) and Check for Updates — no per-version release notes in the app (forum feature request Sep 3, 2026).

Check what you are running

1. Open Grok Bot.
2. Open Profile → About (or the About Grok Bot entry when the app can open past the access screen).
3. Note the version string and whether you are on Stable or Nightly.

When you file a bug, include that version. Staff ask for Profile → About on almost every Grok Bot report.

Follow releases

1. Open https://x.com/bot.
2. Watch posts for new desktop or mobile builds, known issues, and workarounds.
3. In the app, open Settings → Updates, confirm Update Track, then Check for Updates when you want the next build.

Do not treat the Cursor IDE changelog as the Grok Bot changelog. Those are separate products.

Check for updates in the app

1. Open Settings → Updates.
2. Set Update Track to Stable for production builds, or Nightly if you accept faster churn.
3. Tap Check for Updates and install when a build is offered.
4. Re-open Profile → About after install so the version string matches what you file in bugs.

If you need a written history

Until an in-app or docs changelog ships, the public record is:

• @bot on X for staff release notes
• Cursor forum, grok-bot tag for version-numbered bug threads

Vote or comment on the in-app changelog feature request if you want release notes next to Check for Updates.

Pitfalls

• Nightly and Stable can diverge; quote the track with the version when comparing notes with someone else.
• “Multiple Questions” / Linux install threads ask for the latest stable version — About is authoritative on your machine.
• METAGROK how-tos cite staff forum replies and docs.x.ai. For version-by-version release notes, keep following @bot.
