Fix Canva “Invalid redirect URI” on Grok Bot iOS
Fix Canva “Invalid redirect URI” on Grok Bot iOS
Connecting Canva from Grok Bot iOS 1.4.0 can stop on Canva’s page with Invalid redirect URI before the login screen finishes. Cursor staff (deanrie, Sep 3, 2026) called this a known issue: Canva’s auth page accepts a web-style redirect, and the mobile app currently sends an app link, so Canva blocks the flow. Staff said it is not caused by your Canva account settings.
The error can appear as soon as Canva’s page loads, still before you enter Canva credentials. Treat that as the iOS redirect mismatch, not a bad password.
Connect Canva from desktop first
Staff’s workaround:
- On the same Cursor / Grok account, open Grok Bot on Mac or Windows.
- Start the Canva connector from the desktop app and complete Canva login there.
- Return to the iPhone app. Desktop connections sync and Canva should appear on iOS.
You do not need to finish OAuth on the phone while 1.4.0 still sends the app link. Keep the phone signed into the same account so the synced connector shows up.
Confirm on iPhone after desktop connect
- Open Grok Bot on iPhone.
- Open the connectors / plugins list for your account.
- Confirm Canva is listed and usable from a Bot chat that needs a Canva action.
If Canva is missing on the phone after a successful desktop connect, fully quit the iOS app and reopen, then check again under the same account email.
After an app update
- Update Grok Bot from the App Store when a build past 1.4.0 is offered.
- Retry Canva connect on iOS.
- If Invalid redirect URI remains, send staff the exact error text plus Settings → About version on the forum thread.
Staff said they are tracking the iOS redirect mismatch and will post when a fix ships. No exact timeline was given.
Pitfalls
- Distinct from Fix custom MCP OAuth redirect_uri failures in Grok Bot and X plugin OAuth how-tos — those are different redirect bugs.
- Changing Canva redirect URIs in your Canva developer settings will not fix the iOS app link mismatch staff described.
- Use the same account on desktop and iPhone so the synced connector shows up on the phone.
