Stop multi-Bot review loops from burning your weekly Grok Bot usage

Users have reported specialist Bots (for example QC, UAT, Coding, UIUX) keeping a review loop alive after a request to stay quiet and send a verdict to a Command Agent only. In one Sep 1, 2026 report, weekly usage hit 100% and the limit banner fired twice in about 21 seconds. Staff had not answered that thread at write time, so treat the loop as a user-reported pattern. The stop and usage steps below come from official Bot troubleshooting and FAQ.

Stop a stuck or looping Bot

Official troubleshooting for a stuck Bot:

  1. Check the sidebar and Bot status.
  2. Open the computer view.
  3. Look for a pending question, approval card, or login prompt.
  4. Send a short redirect that names the next allowed action.
  5. If work should end, send a direct Stop now.

A computer-use task may need to finish or be redirected before another starts. Message each active specialist Bot with Stop now when a multi-Bot review should halt.

Cut fan-out before the weekly bar tops out

  1. Pause or disable routines that spawn specialist reviews on a schedule.
  2. Avoid starting parallel QC / UAT / Coding / UIUX chats when the weekly meter is already high.
  3. Watch Usage & Billing for the Grok Bot weekly percentage and reset time.
  4. Near 100% weekly, pause Bot work if you want to avoid spill into credits or paid On-Demand.

There is no documented global “stop all Bots” or “bot-to-bot kill” control. Stop each active Bot, then pause the routines that restart the fan-out.

When weekly is exhausted

If usage is exhausted or an on-demand spending limit is reached, review Usage & Billing. Paid Bot work waits until weekly usage resets or on-demand is available. For spill order (weekly → referral/promo credits → paid On-Demand) and the $0 On-Demand limit, see Control Grok Bot On-Demand after weekly usage hits 100%.

Pitfalls

  • A request in chat to “only message Command Agent” does not by itself guarantee other Bots stay silent. Follow with Stop now on each specialist still typing.
  • Dual Cursor + SuperGrok uses whichever has more usage for Bot, per the Bot FAQ.
  • Limit banners and Upgrade CTAs report the weekly pool. They do not invent a separate free specialist-review allowance.
