Fix Grok login, activation prompts, and missing subscription
Fix Grok login, activation prompts, and missing subscription
Most "Grok is broken" reports on paid accounts are the wrong login, a stuck cache, or the weekly usage pool at zero. Work the list in order before assuming an outage.
Same account everywhere
Your SuperGrok purchase is tied to the account you paid with. Sign in on web, iOS, and Android with that same Apple, Google, or X identity. A second login looks unsubscribed even when the card was charged.
If you subscribed with Apple Hide My Email / private relay, keep signing in with Apple. Opening the relay address through Google or email login will not pick up the subscription.
X Premium+ benefits apply only after the X account is linked. On the web: Settings → Account → Connect your X Account, then finish X SSO. Manage sign-in methods at accounts.x.ai.
Clear the stuck "upgrade" prompt
When the app says activate or upgrade while billing still shows active:
- Update the app.
- Force-quit, or delete and reinstall.
- Sign out, clear cache, sign back in.
- Confirm the subscription is still listed under Apple or Google Play Subscriptions.
On the web, try Chrome or Edge in an incognito window so extensions cannot break the billing portal or session cookies.
Usage looks like an outage
Paid Chat, Imagine, Voice, and Build draw from one shared weekly pool. At the cap, paid features pause until the reset time on Settings → Usage. Free-tier Chat and Voice keep their own separate limits.
From the Usage tab on the web you can buy Extra Usage Credits, turn on Auto Top Up, or upgrade the plan. Credits are web-only for now.
720p Imagine video falls back to 480p after you hit the 720p cap for your tier. That looks like a quality bug; it is the quota stepping down.
When support needs a ticket
Use Report an issue in the product (or reply to a billing receipt email). Include account email, platform (Web / iOS / Android), browser or OS, invoice number for billing, and a screenshot or conversation share link. Support can cancel a compromised subscription or delete an account so you can sign up again if an attacker changed the email.
