Check privacy and data retention with /privacy in Grok Build

/privacy shows or toggles privacy and data-retention status for the current Grok Build account. Official: Modes and Commands.

Open it

1. Start or resume a Grok Build TUI session.
2. Type /privacy and send.
3. Read the status the command reports. Toggle when the UI offers it for your account.

Video tools and ZDR

When privacy / Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is off, video tools stay available without enterprise S3 wiring (Video Output Storage under ZDR).

When ZDR is on, generated videos must land in a user-supplied S3-compatible bucket. Until that bucket is configured in managed config, video tools error. Full keys and credentials layout: Configure ZDR video storage in Grok Build.

Restart Grok Build after changing ZDR video storage config.

Pitfalls

• Expecting /privacy to manage Grok Bot Legacy Privacy Mode — Bot auth and privacy live under Cursor account settings; see Fix Grok Bot sign-in and Legacy Privacy Mode.
• Leaving ZDR on without S3 output storage, then wondering why /imagine-video fails.
