Create a scheduled Grok Automation

Automations are jobs Grok runs on a schedule or when email arrives. You write instructions like a chat, attach files, connect tools, and pick how you get the report.

Create one on the web

  1. Open grok.com/automations, or start from a chat / template if Grok offers that path.
  2. Write the job the way you would brief a coworker: what to check, what “done” looks like, and what to send you.
  3. Attach files if the job needs them. Turn on connectors or skills only when the job needs outside data.
  4. Set the schedule: once, daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
  5. Choose the report channel: email, app notification, both, or neither.
  6. Save. Use Run now once so you see a real conversation in run history before you trust the schedule.

Email triggers

Scheduled automations are available to everyone. Email triggers need SuperGrok.

Edit, pause, delete

Open the Automation, then pause, resume, edit, or delete from its controls. Run history is a normal Grok conversation, so you can read what it actually did.

Name note

Marketing calls these Automations. Some pages still say Grok Tasks and point at grok.com/tasks. Same family of product; prefer Automations when you teach the feature.

Pitfalls

  • Vague instructions produce vague runs. Put the output format in the brief.
  • Skipping Run now hides prompt bugs until the first scheduled fire.
