Delete a Grok Bot

Delete a Bot when you are sure you will not need its profile, conversation, or routines again. Deleting removes those three. Files and sign-ins on the shared computer are not isolated per Bot and can remain there, so clean them up separately if they should leave with the role. Prefer hide when you might need the work later

If you may need the conversation, routines, or profile again, hide the Bot instead of deleting it. Hide from sidebar removes it from the main list without deleting its work or pausing its routines; restore it from Show hidden chats. Use hide for a paused project, a seasonal role, or a Bot you are replacing but still want as a reference.

Delete the Bot

  1. Open the Bot you want to remove.
  2. Open Bot actions (or View conversation details).
  3. Choose Delete and confirm when the app asks.
  4. Confirm the Bot no longer appears in the sidebar, including under hidden chats if you check there.

Deleting is immediate for that Bot's profile, conversation, and routines. There is no undo that restores the conversation after confirm.

Clean up the shared computer after delete

The cloud computer belongs to your account, not to one Bot. Browser sessions, /workspace files, and command-line credentials stay available to every remaining Bot. After you delete a Bot that held sensitive files or logins:

  1. Open Agent Computer from another Bot.
  2. Remove project folders, downloads, and credentials that should not stay on the shared machine.
  3. Sign out of sites that only that role should have used, if you do not want other Bots to reuse the session.

Pitfalls

  • Deleting when you only wanted the Bot off the main list — use Hide from sidebar instead.
  • Assuming delete wipes the computer — shared files and logins can remain; remove them yourself.
  • Forgetting that routines die with the Bot — any schedule owned by that Bot stops when the Bot is deleted.
  • Leaving secrets or customer files in /workspace after the role is gone — other Bots on your account can still open them.
