Hide a Grok Bot from the sidebar without deleting it

Hide from sidebar removes a Bot from the main list without deleting its work or pausing its routines. Restore it later from Show hidden chats. Official guide: Work with Grok Bot → Organize your roster.

Use hide when you may need the Bot again. Deleting removes the profile, conversation, and routines; files and sign-ins on the shared computer are not isolated per Bot and can remain.

Hide a Bot

1. Open the Bot in the sidebar.
2. Open Bot actions and choose Hide from sidebar.
3. Confirm the Bot is gone from the main roster.
4. Leave routines alone if they should keep running in the cloud while the Bot is hidden.

Restore a hidden Bot

1. Open Show hidden chats from the sidebar or Bot list controls.
2. Select the Bot you hid.
3. Confirm it reappears in the main list with its conversation, skills, and routines intact.

• Duplicate a Bot to reuse a role for a different scope — the copy carries profile, settings, enabled skills, routines, and avatar, but not conversation history, learned memory, or attachments. Rename and scope the copy before assigning work.

Pitfalls

• Choosing Delete when you only wanted the Bot off the main list — hide preserves work; delete does not.
• Expecting hide to stop routines — hide does not pause routines; pause or delete routines separately if they should stop.
• Assuming files on the computer go away when you hide or delete a Bot — clean /workspace and browser sessions separately when a project should no longer be available.
