Fix “Can’t reach computer” when no Grok Bot plan is linked
Fix “Can’t reach computer” when no Grok Bot plan is linked
A Windows report on Sep 3, 2026 had every network fix already tried: no VPN, no Zscaler, DNS on 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8, a phone hotspot, and Retry. Grok Bot still answered “Can’t reach Grok Bot’s computer.” Cursor staff (deanrie, Sep 3, 2026) checked the account: it sat on the Free plan with no Grok Bot plan linked, so the app could never start a computer. Staff said no rebuild was needed and flagged the misleading wording internally.
Find where the plan was bought
The paid plan has to be linked in the place it was purchased.
- SuperGrok on grok.com or in the Grok app — sign in at cursor.com with the same Cursor account you use inside Grok Bot, then link the subscription at cursor.com/promos/super-grok. SuperGrok binds to whichever account you link it on, and staff say it cannot be moved to a different account later. Check that the email on the Grok side matches.
- Paid Cursor directly — that is billing, handled at
hi@cursor.com. Include the receipt so the team can trace where the payment landed. - Nothing paid yet — a free one-week Grok Bot trial starts at cursor.com/bot/onboarding. A card is required, with no charges during the trial.
Restart after linking
- Right-click the Grok Bot icon in the Windows system tray and choose Quit.
- Reopen Grok Bot and sign in with the same email.
- The app should go straight into computer setup.
To report your version, open Settings in Grok Bot and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Pitfalls
- Rebuilding or resetting the Agent Computer changes nothing here. The computer was never started.
- Two signed-in identities cause this quietly: SuperGrok on one email, Grok Bot on another.
- Seat-level failures look identical and have their own fix: Fix Grok Bot blank screen when you are an Unpaid Admin.
- Genuine network blocks stay in Fix Grok Bot “Can’t reach your computer”.
