Fix iOS can’t reach screen when Recover is missing
On iPhone, Can’t reach [Bot]’s screen may show Retry only. Desktop Grok Bot can expose Settings → Beta → Recover / Update / Reset Agent Computer. Staff threads treat the missing iOS Recover controls as a real gap, not a hidden menu.
For the desktop Recover path and general reach failures, see Fix Grok Bot can’t reach computer and Find missing Grok Bots after Recover.
What to try on iPhone
- Tap Retry once after a short wait (computer boot can lag).
- Force-quit Grok Bot from the app switcher, reopen, and open the same Bot again.
- Confirm network (Wi‑Fi or cellular) and that VPN/proxy apps are not intercepting traffic if IT allows pausing them.
- Update Grok Bot from the App Store when an update is available, then retry.
Use desktop when Recover is required
- On Mac or Windows Grok Bot, open the same account and Bot.
- If the computer still will not load, use Settings → Beta controls staff document for unhealthy computers: Recover, Update, or Reset Agent Computer as appropriate.
- After Recover, confirm the Bot list; use the missing-bots how-to if roster rows disappear.
- Return to iOS only after desktop shows a healthy computer view.
Pitfalls
- Do not assume iOS hides Recover behind an undocumented gesture; staff describe Retry-only on iPhone.
- Repeated Reset on desktop without need can wipe computer state; prefer Recover/Update when those apply.
- Hotspot or VPN changes help network path issues; they do not add Recover to the iOS sheet.
