Inspect and delete what a Grok Bot remembers

A Grok Bot can retain stable preferences, role context, and summaries of prior work. That memory is per Bot. Conversation and learned role stay separate from your other Bots, while shared files, browser sessions, group messages, and direct handoffs can still move context across the roster. Official Bot docs do not publish a bulk “export memory to a file” control.

See what this Bot is carrying

1. Ask the Bot to list the preferences, role facts, and standing instructions it is using for you.
2. Open the Bot’s description / profile and read the written boundaries you gave it.
3. For important decisions, ask it to re-check the current source in addition to anything it remembers (Bot FAQ).

Change or drop remembered context

1. Tell the Bot to forget a specific fact, then confirm it no longer cites that line.
2. Edit the Bot description so standing role and boundaries match what you want next.
3. Use Reset chat / compact flows when you need a cleaner conversation without cloning a new Bot — see Reset Grok Bot chat without cloning when that control is available.
4. Hide the Bot if you may need its work later.
5. Delete the Bot to remove its active profile, conversation, and routines from Grok Bot. Shared-computer files and logins can remain because every Bot on the account shares one cloud computer.

Account-level data downloads

For Grok apps and grok.com personal data access or download, the Consumer FAQ points to Settings / Data Controls and the privacy portal. Grok Bot training opt-out and Legacy Privacy Mode follow Cursor account privacy settings; Bot requires cloud storage and does not support Legacy Privacy Mode.

Pitfalls

• There is no documented one-click Bot memory export in the Bot FAQ. Do not invent a Settings path that docs do not name.
• Deleting one Bot does not wipe /workspace files or browser sessions on the shared computer.
• Secrets on the shared computer stay reachable by every Bot on the account: Do Grok Bots share one computer.
