Manage Google Calendar from Grok
Manage Google Calendar from Grok
Google Calendar is its own connector, separate from Gmail. Official connector docs: once connected, Grok can search events, read details, check free/busy, list calendars you can access, and — when write scopes are enabled — create, update, delete, and RSVP.
Connect Calendar
- Open grok.com/connectors.
- Click New Connector and choose Google Calendar.
- Sign in with Google and approve the permissions shown.
- In chat, ask for a date range, a keyword, free/busy, or an event change.
Gmail is a second OAuth path: Connect Gmail so Grok can search your mail.
What the base connection can do
Base Calendar access is read-oriented. Docs list:
- Search events by date range and keyword
- View attendees, location, and description
- Free/busy availability lookups
- List calendars the account can access
When write tools appear
Write capabilities need the matching scopes. Docs map:
| Scope | Purpose |
|---|---|
calendar.readonly |
Search and read events (base) |
calendar.events |
Create, update, delete events |
calendar.freebusy |
Free/busy checks |
calendar.calendarlist.readonly |
List accessible calendars |
userinfo.email |
Identify the Google account |
On Grok Business / Enterprise, a team admin may need to provision the connector in console.x.ai before teammates can connect it.
Privacy and disconnect
Connector docs state xAI does not train on your Calendar data, and that Grok reads Calendar at ask time without storing the events afterward.
- Open grok.com/connectors.
- Find Google Calendar and click Disconnect.
- Or revoke the app at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Pitfalls
- Connecting Gmail does not connect Calendar — add Calendar separately.
- If create/edit/RSVP tools never appear, check whether write scopes were granted and whether a team admin must enable them.
- Disconnect on grok.com/connectors immediately revokes Grok’s access for that connector.
