Take over the Grok Bot computer for sensitive steps

The Bot hands you the computer for passwords, passkeys, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs, payment or identity checks, and sites that require a human. Official guide: Work with Grok Bot → Take over for sensitive steps. Related: Grok Bot security → Identity and sign-ins.

The Bot does not type credentials and does not see your password. The signed-in session persists for future tasks and is shared across your Bots on the same computer.

Complete a blocked login or check

1. When the Bot pauses for a sensitive step, open Agent Computer from the conversation (Bot name → Back to details → preview, or the keyboard toggle — see reopen the computer pane).
2. Take control of the computer view.
3. Complete only the blocked step (password, passkey, one-time code, CAPTCHA, payment, or identity check).
4. Tell the Bot to continue.

Prefer the secure secret request when offered

1. For a supported connection that presents a secure secret request, enter the value there.
2. The field is masked, excluded from the transcript, and not shown to the model.
3. Never paste passwords or one-time codes into ordinary chat.

Pitfalls

• Pasting credentials into the chat — they land in the transcript and reach the model; use take-over or the secure secret request instead.
• Expecting sessions to last forever — some sites expire sessions or re-verify; ask the Bot to pause and notify you rather than work around the check.
• Treating each Bot’s screen as a security boundary — all of your Bots share one computer’s logins and files; do not leave a credential on the computer if another of your Bots should not use it.
