How Grok Build usage fits the shared weekly pool

People ask whether Grok Build has its own monthly or weekly cap. Official SuperGrok FAQ (Usage & Limits): paid plans no longer keep separate daily limits per product for Chat, Imagine, Voice, or Build. You get one shared weekly usage pool you can spend across those products.

So Build is weekly, inside the same SuperGrok bar as Chat and Imagine. The FAQ does not document a separate “Build monthly” meter.

Read Build’s share of the week

1. On the web, open Settings → Usage (same meter as Check your weekly Grok usage and what happens at the cap).
2. Read the percentage used and the breakdown by product. Build appears as its own slice when you have been coding in the CLI.
3. Inside a Build TUI session, run /usage to open credit usage / billing from the Modes and Commands list.

Long coding jobs, /deep-research workflows, and /imagine / /imagine-video inside Build all draw from that shared week. A quiet chat week leaves more room for Build; a heavy Imagine week leaves less.

At the weekly cap

When the shared weekly pool is exhausted, paid features pause until the reset time shown on the Usage tab. Free-tier Chat and Voice keep their own free limits on a separate schedule.

From the Usage tab on web you can buy Extra Usage Credits, enable Auto Top Up, or upgrade the plan for a larger weekly pool. Extra credits are priced higher per action than the usage included in the plan — the FAQ’s long-term advice if you hit the bar every week is to upgrade.

Pitfalls

• Spending the whole week on Build is allowed; the pool is deliberately flexible across products.
• /usage in the TUI and Settings → Usage on the web should agree on the same account — sign in with the login that owns the subscription.
• Reset time is on the Usage tab; it is not midnight local for every account.
