Check your weekly Grok usage and what happens at the cap

Use this when you want to see how much of your weekly usage is left and what happens when it runs out. X Subscription paid seats share one weekly pool for eligible first-party usage across supported Grok and Cursor surfaces, including Grok Bot on Premium and up (docs.x.ai/x-subscription/usage-limits, checked 2026-10-13). Leftover SuperGrok plans still describe one weekly pool across Grok products, with Grok Bot as a separate meter. Hub: Plans, billing and usage. A chat message costs little. A high-quality video or a long coding job costs more. Usage rates vary by product. The allowance refreshes weekly.

Read the meter

If you are already on The X Subscription

  1. After a switch, open grok.com/dashboard → Usage.
  2. Read the shared weekly bar for first-party Grok and Cursor work. The pool covers Chat, Imagine, Voice, and Bot. Grok API is not on that bar (x.ai/pricing, checked 2026-10-14).
  3. Before you switch, Bot usage still lives on cursor.com/dashboard.

If you still hold a leftover SuperGrok plan

  1. Open Grok on the web or in the app.
  2. Go to Settings → Usage.
  3. The leftover Grok FAQ lists a progress bar, a percentage by product, the weekly reset time, and Extra Usage Credits. That FAQ's product list is for the leftover SuperGrok dashboard. It is not the X Subscription pool.

On The X Subscription, paid plans include Grok API access, billed separately at standard model rates. Grok API is not in the weekly usage pool and is not included in the weekly price (x.ai/pricing, checked 2026-10-14). Console API keys still bill against Console credits (docs.x.ai/console/billing, checked 2026-09-25).

At the cap

Paid first-party features that draw the included week pause until the week resets. Free-tier Chat and Voice keep their own limits on a separate clock.

On The X Subscription, extra first-party work after the included week uses top-ups, Auto Top-up, and spending caps (docs.x.ai/x-subscription/extra-usage, prepaid-balance, spending-caps, checked 2026-10-13). Third-party models in Cursor (Premium and above) bill from those credits from the first use. They are not part of the included week. Plus is Grok models only.

On leftover SuperGrok, the web Usage tab still offers Extra Usage Credits (from $5), Auto Top Up with an amount and a monthly cap, and a plan upgrade. Extra Usage Credits are web-only on that leftover path; mobile in-app purchase for credits is listed as coming later.

Teams on The X Subscription: each paid seat has its own weekly pool. Seats do not share weekly pools. The team shares a prepaid balance for Additional Usage.

Pitfalls

  • Treating Grok Bot as a separate pool on The X Subscription. That separate-meter sentence is true only on leftover SuperGrok-family plans. After you switch, Bot usage is the same weekly bar.
  • Expecting third-party Cursor models to draw the included week. They use credits from the first use on Premium and above.
  • Reading Grok API spend as the seat's weekly pool. Paid plans include API access, billed separately at standard model rates.
  • Buying Extra Usage Credits every week on a leftover SuperGrok plan. The leftover FAQ's advice is to upgrade the plan. See When Extra Usage Credits cost more than your plan.
  • Signing in with a different login than the one that owns the subscription. The meter will look empty or unsubscribed.
