When the Grok app cannot load Bots after you switch to The X Subscription
Use this when the Grok app or grok.com fails to load your Bots after you switch to The X Subscription, and the Grok Bot desktop app still shows them. This is a known issue. Staff said nothing has been lost. There is no documented self-serve step to relink the Grok app or grok.com. Checked Oct 16, 2026.
Cursor staff (Colin) said on forum thread 174769 on Oct 15, 2026 that the Premium plan and the bots are fine. The issue is that the Grok app and grok.com are still connected to an older Cursor account that was linked to the Grok login before the switch to The X Subscription. That older account does not have a plan, so the Bots page fails to load. Staff said they are already tracking this. The Grok Bot desktop app is connected to the right account, so you can create and use your bots there. Nothing has been lost.
The original report was Android app and web, with no + icon. Staff's interim is the desktop app, not a rebuild of the roster.
Use desktop while the Grok app stays on the old account
- Open the Grok Bot desktop app, not only grok.com or the consumer Grok app.
- Confirm your Bots are still in the sidebar and that you can message them there.
- Create or use Bots on that desktop session. Staff said that app is on the right account.
- Do not invent a relink, merge, or “switch the Grok app account” procedure. Official pages do not document a self-serve step to point the Grok app or grok.com at the Cursor account desktop is already using.
A completed switch to The X Subscription is permanent and cannot be undone by Support (Do I have to switch?, checked Oct 16, 2026). Do not ask Support to reverse the switch in order to reload the Grok app Bots page.
What official subscription pages do say
Grok Bot on The X Subscription says: if you connected SuperGrok to Cursor and have more than one Cursor account, you choose a primary account when you unify. Multiple Cursor accounts says Bots move with the same bot IDs. Those sentences are about the unify choice. They are not a repair path for a Grok app that is still attached to the older Cursor account staff described.
Grok Bot sign-in says signing in only authenticates you. It does not link or combine your X, Grok, or Cursor accounts or switch your plan. Signing out and back in on grok.com is not a documented fix for this load failure.
If older Bots sit on “Working on it…” after a combine, that is a different staff note: send a new message, and do not Reset. See Switch Cursor, SuperGrok, and X Premium to The X Subscription.

Pitfalls
- Deleting or recreating Bots because grok.com will not list them. Staff said nothing has been lost and desktop is on the right account.
- Assuming Support can undo the X Subscription switch so the Grok app starts working. Official docs say a completed switch cannot be undone.
- Writing your own relink steps. Staff did not publish any.
